Service Opportunity

Lisa Best is collecting medication (both over the counter and prescription) that may be left over or expired. Anything that is still determined usable (verified by a pharmacist traveling with the group) will be sent to Haiti in March with Healing Hands for Haiti. Infant, children, and adult medications are needed. Collection will be through Sunday, February 14th. Financial donations are also possible and then medication can be purchased to take with them. Back to Basics

It is a New Year, and it is time to get prepared! February 11th at 6:30 to 8:30 we will be having a Back to Basics meeting on Emergency Preparedness. We will have a speaker on Emergency Response, forms about making an emergency plan for your own family, and we will also be putting together a small preparedness kit (maybe to put in your car). We would also like to encourage you to participate in our 72 hour kit expo/Contest! Use February 11th as a deadline for making your own 72 hour kit, or updating the one that you already have. Bring your kit on that night and display it for the other sisters. There will be a prize for the best kits, and all participants will have the prize of an up-to-date preparedness kit! Here are some links on preparing your own 72 hour kit. There is no set right way to make one, but use these resources to build your own. Remember something is better than nothing! Get started!

Ham Cram Session

The Stake is sponsoring a Ham Cram Session to teach ham radio. It will be at the Glenridge Building on February 6th from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The cost of the class is $15.00 to cover the testing fee. Pre registration and payment is required. Please contact Brenda Barlow if you are interested.

There will be a Primary activity on January 30th, 10:00am at the church. The kids are invited to a construction celebration in honor of reaching our 2009 temple-building goal!
